Mean Streets of Gadgetzan—Now Available
Posted on 01 December 2016
Hearthstone’s newest expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, is now available! The fragile truce between the city’s three crime families has been shattered, and now the rowdy Grimy Goons, the volatile Kabal, and the secretive Jade Lotus want you to choose sides! Fill your decks with 132 powerful new cards and take the fight to an all new game board in a rough-and-tumble turf war for the city of Gadgetzan.
Big City
Under Mayor Noggenfogger’s ambitious guidance, and with the help of some very questionable allies, Gadgetzan has blossomed from a sleepy little desert waystation into a full-blown, sprawling port city. Noggenfogger modernized and expanded, securing Gadgetzan’s place as a world-class capital of commerce. Despite its booming economy, Gadgetzan is no utopia—it’s got WAY more than its fair share of crime. From Grime Street to the docks, no part of town is safe from the power struggle that’s about to unfold.
Big Trouble
The crime families that helped transform Gadgetzan now rule the streets, but this burg isn’t big enough for all three of them. Now they’re aiming to push the competition out of town and claim Gadgetzan for themselves, and they want to recruit YOU to the cause!
Ready to get your hands dirty? Good! There are 132 all-new Hearthstone cards in Mean Streets of Gadgetzan up for grabs, including 9 new tri-class cards. Like the crime families that host them, these special neutral class minions break the rules, so each can be used by three different classes instead of just one. The Legendary boss of each crime family is also a tri-class card!
The Grimy Goons
These tough guys are an association of the Warriors, Hunters, and Paladins of Gadgetzan. When you spot a crossed pair of spiked clubs on a Grimy Goons tri-class card, backup is on the way. Mugging, extortion, robbery, and a long list of other strong-arm crimes are the delight of the Grimy Goons, a mob of toughs headed up by the two-headed ogre Don Han’Cho.
The Grimy Goons specialize in weapons smuggling, and a smart Goon always grabs a little something extra before a rumble. Many Grimy Goons cards buff the minions in your hand who are waiting to join the fray. With massive arsenals stashed all over the city, the Goons can go from a motley crew of two-bit thugs to an unstoppable army at the drop of a coin.
The Kabal
The Kabal’s symbol is a potion bottle, and you’ll be able to fit Kabal tri-class cards into Mage, Priest, and Warlock decks. Illegal magic and a mind-boggling array of potions are the specialty of the Kabal, outcast spellcasters loyal to the mysterious master alchemist Kazakus. If you’re willing to create decks that contain no duplicates, you’ll gain the aid of some of this faction’s most potent members. . . at the cost of some predictability.
Power at any price is the Kabal’s motto, and with a colorful assortment of literally crazed spellcasters at his command—and more joining the ranks every day—Kazakus’ Kabal is an erratic and highly volatile force in the city.
The Jade Lotus
You’ll recognize their tri-class cards by the stylized lotus flower symbol, and you’ll be able to slip them into Rogue, Druid, and Shaman decks. Directed in secret by Aya Blackpaw, the mysterious Jade Lotus crime family was the subject of much rumor and speculation amongst the delinquent denizens of the city, but the true power of the Jade Lotus is about to be unveiled.
They’ve harnessed ancient magic to unleash Jade Golems—living statues that become more and more powerful each time one is summoned. Aya Blackpaw has created an army of these golems for her devoted followers, and the Jade Lotus will soon show everyone in Gadgetzan what it is to face a truly unstoppable foe!
